  1. We overlap! My list includes soul meets body, mary, song for a winter's night, american tune, hallelujah, not ready to make nice, and read my mind! I have so many others -- hadn't thought of asking my surgeon to play them during surgery but considering it now. And by the way I had my vascular surgeon play "no woman, no cry" (the Marley version) when he was finally removing my port after "The Great Port Debacle of 2009" -- largely b/c that song was playing when I got the port placed 9 years ago.

I might email you my list so you can look it over -- it's too long to post. But thanks for sharing!!

  2. That's awesome! I have a question for you! How did you get your Itunes list to your surgeon? Did you burn her/him a million CDs or what? I want to give a good chunk of music since the surgery is so long, but I don't know how to get it to him ahead of time without making it a huge hassle for him, you know?

    Dear Dr CJet,
In your spare time please upload these 7 CDs.
    Love, CG

  3. With my vascular surgeon he had an ipod player and offered to either leave the room silent, bring his own ipod, or play from mine. The danger being, of course, that someone has to remember to bring your ipod back for you -- but the surgeon can always bring it out to your fam when he goes and talks to them (that's what we did). I would ask your surgeon how he prefers to deal with it -- offer to send a playlist or CDs (could you burn them onto a mix that is a single CD for him -- they can hold quite a few songs, so you probably wouldn't need more than a few tops?) or to allow him to just play your ipod if you're comfortable wit that.

I made my tx playlist to listen to AFTER surgey, but I'm loving the idea of having music played during the operation. Columbia has 5 surgeons, though, so I'm not sure how it would work unless I brought my own ipod. Hmmm...things to think about. Will send my playlist over soon!

    xo,
    Piper

  4. I know! I thought of having him say "hot kiss from McDreamy" or "You're good enough, you're smart enough, and gosh darn it, people like you," too.

    :)
